John Murtha a Democrat represented of Pennsylvania and an American politician was died on Monday afternoon at Virginia Hospital Center after suffering from intestine infection. Murtha was 77-yaers-old. He was born on June, 1932. He belongs from the Irish-American family in New Martinsville, West Virginia.
He was the first veteran from Pennsylvanian Democratic Republic who joined the congress during the Vietnam War. He was one of the strong lawmakers in the House. As a youth, he became a Scout. Before his graduation from Kiski School, he worked in delivering newspapers and at a gas station. After completing his studies he joined the politics and on May 20, 1969 he was elected to represent the 72nd legislative district in the Pennsylvania House of Representation. At there his task was not so easy. He faced tough time and challenges.
Murtha rendered great services in different district and international levels. After becoming the chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, he handled this position bravely with such prestige. He was nominated to go to Iraq during the war in 2002 and became a pierce instructor. He also rendered service in Korea and honored with a Bronze Star and Two Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam. He ahs many ups-downs in his political career but he stood steady and faced the challenges with courage and determination. Despite of controversies,Murtha was beloved by his House colleagues in the House of chamber.
His death resulted by an infection after an accidental cut to the intestine during gall bladder surgery. He was hospitalized and died a week later on the afternoon of Feb8. 2010.
